[The 100-Storey House in the Sea]
One bright day, a young girl is out at sea, feeding snacks to a passing seagull. In her arms is her beloved doll, Kong-yi. But in a sudden mishap, Kong-yi tumbles into the water and is swept away by a swirl of strange bubbles, losing her hat, bag, clothes, accessories – and even her hair.

When she finally comes to rest, Kong-yi finds herself at the top of a most extraordinary place: a one-hundred-storey building beneath the waves. Each set of ten floors is home to a different community of sea creatures.

Descending floor by floor, Kong-yi meets sea otters, dolphins, starfish, octopuses, seahorses, moray eels, jellyfish, crabs, anglerfish, hermit crabs, and many more. Every new friend offers her a special gift from the ocean – clothes, bags, ornaments – to replace what she has lost.

At last, on the hundredth floor, she encounters a great hermit crab holding her missing hat. He will not return it, but instead gifts her a beautiful hat crafted from a seashell. With the help of her new ocean friends, Kong-yi rises back to the surface – and into the arms of the girl who had lost her.

[Highlights]
